Our new Cable TV 1 minute ad is being edited now. Next week it will be seen by over 100,000 business people who watch cable TV morning news in Southern California – out of over 3,000,000 households who actually have access. Since I sell a bundled social media marketing and website design service, this reaches my target clients with the most expensive slots I could buy: at $175 per one minute slot. I can reach consumers (3 and 1/2 million of them!) for as little as $6 per slot, which is what I would do more of as a Realtor, if I were one.
If this sounds expensive, think again:
- I am a member of a Barter exchange and I traded my time for the advertising.
- If on person buys a reasonable size website bundled with marketing, I break even.
- If two out of 100,000 who will see it buy a decent size package, I make a profit
- Everything else is gravy.
If you apply this to real estate, the rewards are higher, and even the least expensive slots could produce results.

It is amazing to me: unprecedented; my friend and contractor is a 21 year old girl in the Philippines. I met her looking for someone to do some work for us when launching a new website. Why do I love Google, and the open-source movement in general? Because it has made this cherished connection possible. Just think about how much our lives have changed, and will continue to change with this technology:
- Everyone can get ‘in the game’ – it is no longer who you know, or even where you are or what you have: it is what you have to offer that matters now.
- Nobody controls distribution – everyone can get an audience – true, unfettered free enterprise on a level playing field
- Everyone can communicate with everyone else – just think about the ramifications of that statement when it comes to politics, religion, philosophy, art, science, commerce and our culture in general!
Perhaps it is because I was an orphan myself at age 11 that this touches me so much: I had to rise above humble beginnings, and a broken back at 23, and many other challenges: but this girl, Mari Mae Perez is from another province, an ocean away, with a language barrier and culture gap to deal with : she has taught herself PHP and My Sequel programming, Internet marketing, SEO – it is because she reached out to find work that she found me!
How inspiring is that? It is during my darkest hours that my angels who have followed me around all my life in spite of all of my mistakes have reached out to me with such examples and acquaintances to make me aware of the possible and brave enough to move forward in spite of my fears – and now, with this technology, we can all be available to each other thus.

I had a special place in my heart for what Dr. Hesu Whitten does:
I was hit by a log in Forks, Washington when I was 22, and it almost killed me. It broke all of my ribs, and, although I did not know it at the time, my back. I did not do that either, and I have already outlived my parents by 9 years; I smoked 2 and 1/2 packs per day for 22 years before I quit at 37, and I can run, and I have no heart problems.
Holistic medicine can and does cure problems that regular Doctors do not know how to cure, and they, like any business, will protect outdated skill sets to earn a living. When you ad to this the high opportunity costs of becoming a medical doctor, it is no wonder that misdiagnosis, and a pragmatism for what they know (what they learned in school and may be outdated) is not always what is best for the patient, in this case, me.
