Google+ and +1 – Welcome to the new playing field – popularity trumps everything
I gotta tell ya: I am impressed:
Intuitive, handy, easy to use..even the way they rolled it out was so fair to allow us power players to invite 100,000 and instantly establish ourselves correctly, perfect!
But I doubt that many of you realize what this really means:
- Everybody is connected like a hive
- Everything is traceable
- Google knows everything
- We are all watching
Let me break it down to our level:
- The popularity of your page, and how long people spend on it will determine it’s rankings.
- Your personal popularity on the web, or the popularity of your cause, will power your rankings
- Your URL, DOES NOT MATTER TO GOOGLE, they have better ways of ranking a page
- Your friends, contacts, clients, relatives, employees, customers are HUMAN CAPITAL, the more you have, the greater your power, your sphere of influence.
- It is actually a new form of government: Meritocracy – on Google, whomever does the most work of building the Internet, has the most power.
