I mail-merged my customers on a 286 with Word Perfect and a dot matrix printer with little cartoony charctures of me. The list became over 700 businesses and families who purchased vehicles from me for over 15 years, while I learned about fleet and Internet sales and developed the systems and knowledge that we still use today to promote our clients online. My ability in this area was a complete accident: but everyone, including me, found out quickly that I had an unexpected ability to get computers to work for me, and I became the computer guy in a large group of dealerships. I have earned my living by helping others in this fast-paced, competitive marketing landscape ever since ;-) We have sold over $9,000,000 in products and services that I invented since then.
